Well, the first two days were not so bad. The cardio and core synergistics were pretty normal and they were what I had expected them to be. Today was my first day lifting. I really tried to max on reps and push myself with weight that was heavier than I am used to. I did most of my excersizes with 10lb weights, when I am only used to using 5lbs. It was tough. I feel like jello right now. Today was Shoulder/Bicep and Ab Ripper. I have pretty strong abs already, but man I felt that DVD. Felt good! Tomorrow is Yoga...not really looking forward to that...not the biggest fan of yoga. Have done it in the past and was not that impressed. Plus the DVD is 90 minutes! Holy Crap! 90 Minutes of Yoga! I think I will do it before bed. Maybe I will be presently surprised.
The diet is going. We are both a little off plan. We are still getting most, if not all, of our daily requirements. I have never eaten this much meat in my life, and it is getting harder and harder. blah. I was pretty much Vegan before I started this and to go from no meat or dairy to 6 oz. of meat with every meal and two servings of dairy a day, it has been tough. Everything about the diet is pretty horrible. You have to limit fruits and veggies and that is what I am used to living off of. And Rus and I are on different calorie levels so I feel like I am always preparing 3 meals for every meal of the day. Even if we are eating the same thing Rus needs more meat, more sauce, more veggie...it is annoying. So We are being a little more lenient that we should with the diet, but we are still with the no sugar, added salt, and limited fats and carbs. We have decided to have one "special treat" a week. with this being the almost holiday season I can't (and won't) be deprived of some pumpkin treats! yummy! I guess it gives me little goals to look forward to. If I work really hard for the week, I get a yummy piece of pie or a yummy cookie on Saturday. Is it Saturday yet? lol.

Day 1! Over and Out!
Well, Day 1 is over. I am doing the P90X lean version and today was core synergistic. Honestly, I didn't think it was all that bad. I enjoyed it. All of the moves were new to me so I am sure that my body will be sore tomorrow. As far as endurance, I kept up pretty well and even maxed out on a couple of things. I am looking forward tomorrow and getting to use the weights some more. I have to say that I love the way the videos are set up. I love the "progress bar" at the bottom of the DVD. It is good to know how far you have come and how long you have to go...so I guess it could be good news and bad news. TC enjoyed the video as well. He kept trying to do all of the jumping and squatting and especially the Dreya Roll.
The diet, ah, the diet. We are trying to stick to the meal plan they have listed in the book, but I don't know how realistic it is going to be. I had to make turkey burgers at 9pm last night so my hubby would have them to take to lunch today. So we may be sticking to the easier things on the menu like turkey and tuna sandwiches, much more practical. I am having a hard time drinking the protein power because...well...it tastes absolutely horrible. Rus thinks it tastes like chocolate milk...obviously his taste buds are confused.
Well, I am pooped. Running after TC all day in the house (rain, please go away!) is wearing me out! Time for some snuggley family time. Only 89 days to go!

I want my DAY 1!
Well...still no P90X. I have emailed the company and got the response that it is on its way. I will believe it when I see it. We did the fit test (found it online) and we both passed. We didn't record our numbers, but maybe we will since we seem to have all the time in the world to do it. We are both eating per the P90X diet (minus the protein Shakes for me). The diet is very high protein, low carb and very clean. No extra sugar, salt, fats, processed foods, etc. Keep your fingers crossed that we get some good mail today!! One day left!
Well, we hit a bit of a snag. Our system was supposed to be here on Saturday via UPS...well, the UPS man never showed! So we are hoping that he will get here tomorrow and we can still start tomorrow as scheduled. We are following a diet based on the P90x diet that was written by another blogger. It is the same diet but, simplified. We went shopping today and got all the right foods and have had fun this weekend eating all the foods we know we won't be able to eat for the next few months! The diet is complicated to say the least and the only way we could think to make it easy and manageable was to eat the same thing (all meals and snacks) for a week and switch it every week.
So my diet for the week 1 includes:
Breakfast: Oatmeal and coffee with soy milk
Snack: Banana and protein shake
Lunch: Spinach Salad with carrots and string cheese
P90x workout!!! (nap time for TC!)
Snack: Protein Shake (double)
Dinner: Chicken with a veggie
Snack: apple with natural peanut butter
I think the diet will be the hardest part for me, but I am trying to get myself mentally prepared for it. It will be a struggle. We haven't done any measurements yet, but plan to tomorrow morning (after my run of course :))
I still plan on getting in my daily run in the morning before TC wakes up and before Rus heads off the work and will probably get a walk in the evening or my pups will hate me. The next 90 days are gonna be rough! Stay tuned!

T-Minus 3 Days and Counting!!!
Well, I embark on this challenge in 3 days. Monday is the day!! I am excited, but really nervous. I am terrified that I won't be able to do the workouts or live by the p90x prescribed diet. I am, however, going to try my best and do what I can. I consider myself physically fit, but doubt is creeping into my head. Especially, after I got out pull-up bar in the mail yesterday. I can do 3 unassisted pull-ups...I thought I would be able to do more, but man, those are hard! My goal is 10 by the end of this!
My hubby and I are going to do this challenge together and we are both super excited. I am not sure if he is as excited about the diet, but I know he can do it. It actually isn't much of a diet. In fact, I will be eating about 600 more calories than I would normally eat. It is all about choosing the right foods and loading up on protein (which terrifies me as I have been living vegetarian for the past few months).
I am coming into this having done jillianmicheals.com for about 4 months. I wasn't religious with the diet or the exercising and that is why I am here. I am up about 5 lbs in the last couple of months (gained about 5 before I miscarried and have fluctuated since I stopped breastfeeding). I blame Texas, and the horrible eating habits I have adopted including stress/emotional eating and eating too much sugar! Luckily, with the first phase of this diet, sugar and carbs are very limited. I hope this will offer my body a bit of a detox from all the damage I have done recently.
Once I finish this 90 days (should take us right up to Christmas!) I am going to start training for a half marathon in March! Hopefully, this will be a good stepping stone to get me going.
I will update tomorrow with the fitness test results, body measurements (yep I'm putting it all out there), and day 1 pictures! Thanks for all of your support on this 90 day journey!
